Author of the internationally successful books, Film Production Management 101 and Surviving Production. Deborah Patz has worked in many aspects of the film and television industry since the mid-80s, most especially in production management and supervision.

Based on her books, Ms. Patz has designed and instructed numerous courses, seminars and workshops on production management skills and spoken on panels at such places as the Canadian Film Centre, Vancouver Film School, the Banff Centre, Capilano University, Film Expo Texas, Film Training Manitoba, FTX West and Women in Film: Flash Forward. Among her appearances, she has been interviewed on Canada AM, Daytime TV Talk Show, BBC Radio and BBC Blast.

Most recently, Ms. Patz has been immersed in business affairs at cultural financing agency Telefilm Canada. She also continues to write - and speak about the - books on her production experiences.

With a diverse production background including digital, 35mm, IMAX 3D & 16mm shooting formats, family & children's programming, low budget features and science fiction extravaganzas, a peek at her production filmography includes:

L5: First City in Space, William Shatner's TekWar, Mission to MIR, Maniac Mansion, The Boys Club, The Big Comfy Couch, Ewoks & Droids, The Sound & the Silence, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and the Emmy award-winning The Magician's House.

A Producer graduate of the Canadian Film Centre who has also completed the Banff TV Executive Program, Ms. Patz has earned a film production degree from York University and a New Media certificate from UBC and has attended the Sheridan College International School of Animation.

She currently lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
